Melanie Rea
Melanie is a singer/songwriter from Michigan. She provides music ministry in a variety of capacities, mainly within the Diocese of Lansing and the Archdiocese of Detroit. Melanie has been involved with music since her youth. She received formal training in music ministry at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work. After receiving her Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University in 2008, she began to feel a call to utilize the gifts God had given her to serve His people through music. Melanie released her very first album, In the Waiting, in 2012 and has since followed with three additional releases, One Desire (2013), It is Well (2015) and her new Christmas album. Melanie has also been privileged to participate in compilation album projects with other local artists. Melanie lives in Gregory with her husband Jonathan and their sons Eli, Benjamin and Jack. At this year’s conference, Melanie will be joined by a very talented group of local musicians, many of which have contributed to her projects.
